Sugar Eggs and Tea...

Easter is near

and spring is in the air...

I am so excited for all things spring!!

pastel colors...

Forget-Me-Nots

with a tea cup to match...

a shy little velvet chick...

and sugar eggs...

as a girl I had one of those glorious sugar eggs

with the beautiful scene inside...

I no longer have it,

that was a lesson to be learned about restraint

and not nibbling :-)

my husband would say this is a lesson,  I haven't yet mastered...

 I have always had a fond spot in my heart

for those sugar eggs..

I have been wanting to try making these small ones

for quite awhile...

they are just sugar and food coloring

with a couple drops of water

pressed into candy molds...

the perfect size for dropping in a cup of tea..

they were so fun and easy

I can't wait to try other shapes...

I will be joining these sweet ladies for tea today...

Easter Egg Chandelier...

Back when I first hung my chandeliers,

I knew I was in complete lust

of it'sparkle...

then for Valentines day I dangled little hearts

from its branches..

my heart pitter pattered,

and I didn't want to take those little hearts down....

then way back

when it was way to soon to decorate for Easter

I found shiny purple eggs...

I almost forgot I had bought them,

it was so long ago...

and well,

who can resist pink grass?

Easter is that special time

when bright cheery fantasy colors work,

so why not?

Now I am going to have to figure out

what to dangle next :-)

Today was the day!

the day Seattle saw the sun...

hurrah!!

and although my gardening day was filled with

not photo worthy work...

I thought I would share the beauty of this clump of tulips,

a clump that should have been divided last fall!

Sometime laziness pays off in the end....

A Bulb Farm Tour...

                             

Since last month I took you on a little trip to

a working Daffodil Farm....

I thought it was only fair

and a bit more colorful..

to visit a local bulb display garden...

The Van Lierop farm

is probably one of the oldest in the valley...

and since besides selling cut blooms,

they also sell bulbs...

They have  a pretty little display garden,

which is a fun place to stop by each spring...

The Tulips are just on the cusp of bursting open,

you see that grey Seattle sky,

we are in need of some sun!

We are having a cold spring,

and I know my garden is way behind

compared to last year..

viewing my own posts from last year

 is an added blogging bonus,

I can go back and view my own gardens progress...

an unmarked bulb,

they reminded me of Snowdrops...

the Cherry tree in it's full delicate beauty...

a blue ocean

of Grape Hyacinths...

last weekend was the local Daffodil festival & parade

and for once the Daffodils were in full bloom,

usually they are long gone...

I am always enchanted by this statue..

the way the moss is twined through her hair...

the so cute sign says we are Welcome :-)

I am in  lust with this little greenhouse...

when I moved to my house

I had a half an acre of grass...

In the back,

I have saved one last unlandscaped plot

 in the back corner

for a little greenhouse / playhouse...

It is on my " hope to do it this year"  list :-)
