An Old Garden Rake, repurposed...

I have seen this fun idea

on repurposing a rake before...

 

 

my old rake was picked up at a garage sale over the summer

for a dollar...

 

 

 

I love the farmy way it dressed up

 my garden shed door...

the rake's tines act as a florists frog

and hold the twigs easily in place...

I am going to leave it up year 'round

and decorate it for each season...

 

 

 twine and dry Garlic tops were used to make a bow...

Beautyberries are the show stopper...

another type of Berry,

I can't remember the name...

and a few plump Snowberries...

Fall Projects...

Fall around here is a time for interior painting projects,

so today I am painting my bedroom...

I thought I'd share a little peak...

the new color is a Martha Stewart shade

in gloaming...

the paint itself is BEHR Premium plus paint and primer in one,

I love this stuff,

it has easily covered the dark before paint...

I still have a lot of work to do,

and the view behind the camera is scary...

I will show you lots of pics soon...

Here is the color the bedroom was,

I think it was called Victorian Amethyst...

when making a big color change,

I always get a little scared halfway through,

unsure of the color...

do you do this?

So it was nice today to take a short break and take some pics,

setting pretty objects against the new wall color

reaffirms my happiness :-)

the above Eden Rose above

is certainly a pretty object :-)

the blooms are still coming slowly....

our first night dipping into the 30's is forecast for the weekend,

so I better treasure them while I can!

the little berries on the Beauty Berry are ripening...

I have a fall project that has been on hold,

waiting for them...

A Trip to the Pumpkin Farm...

Back in the cold wet spring

I shared with you a trip to the local Daffodil farm...

the other main crops that grow in the valley where I live

are Rhubarb and Pumpkin...

Pumpkins are big business

with several local farms,

each with attractions and family fun...

I usually grow my own Pumpkins,

but this year,

with the cold summer,

my little patch is seriously sad looking...

so I went to a local farm

to buy a few...

It's fun to see the varieties

and harvest some seeds for my own patch next year....

these Heirloom French Squash

with all their warts were my favorite...

I can't wait to grow a huge patch!

Speckled Hounds...

Pink Banana....

I have heard these are good for eating...

and Sweet Dumplings....

the variety was endless...

but, the usual baby white pumpkins

 were no where to be found...

but they did have some nice big ones...

Corn Mazes are also big here...

one farm features the haunted woods each year...

with special effects and a long, muddy, scary, night time "stroll"

through the corn fields and woods...

a good scare is always fun,

maybe this is the year I'll go...
