Do you remember the candle holder
I bought and painted last week?
(click photos to enlarge)
Well it became a pair,
it just looked too lonely alone :-)
That gave me a reason
(like I needed one)
to change out my hall tree...
I always keep this silver tray
with Victorian calling cards
in the foyer...
It feel right in an old house
to give a nod to it's old traditions...
I have changed the cards out
to ones with subdued tones for fall
and added soft leather gloves to the tray...
Snips of Dusty Miller in a vase
have real lasting power...
The few roses left in the garden only last a day
when brought indoors,
so I cherish them for special spots...
A hint of roses on a serving platter
makes a pretty backdrop...
Candlelight on dark days
always feels right!
Are you used to daylight saving time yet?
I am still shocked by the darkness everyday...
I am joining White Wednesday
Vignette Friday at Color Outside the Lines
and
Funky Junk Interiors for Saturday Nite Special
Come enjoy the beauty of white on this dark night!
Thanks for stopping by...

Dearest Bella,
You have such a flair for changing most any little treasure into a romantic show piece!
This is so lovely with the candles.
Love the calling cards with the leather gloves; like there is that elegant visitor from another era... in one of the rooms.
Oh, we had a meeting at seven and I had to drive completely in the dark; that shocked me too. But we have no choice but to adapt to it.
Have a lovely remainder of the week and greetings from Georgia,

Hey Lady! Love the Dusty Miller! I bet we could grow that. Do you know how it dries? It's a great color. Love that vase too. Very pretty hall tree treatment. I'm thinking of painting mine white, but then I would have to relocate my Armadillo purse! (no kidding) Best to you! xxJQ
Gorgeous, as always. :)
I am NOT enjoying the time change and the short days. I need more daylight! Maybe more candles would help. :)
Just beautiful Bella!!! Hugs,Rachel
Hi Bella,
Just beautiful! I'm not enjoying daylight's savings time, that's for sure! It's dark now when I leave work!!! ugh!....but the beautiful candles and pair of candle holders on your hall tree would certainly be a lovely sight to see at the end of the day!
They look just beautiful! I love the soft whites you've put together in the vignette. The pretty glow of the photos, well done
I love all the sweet and romantic elements you've used in this display, especially the lovely calling cards. The candlelight is just the perfect touch on these days leading up to winter! And no, I have not adjusted to daylight savings time yet either! Smiles, Julie

I very much love your entryway vignette. Calling cards are a delightful idea. Your china is beautiful as are your lamps!
What a lovely vignette you have created, I don't often see old calling cards on my antiquing trips, postcards yes. Yours are lovely, its a sweet touch.
