When Heather at Dusty Bay showcased Snowberries
on her beautiful garden blog...
I knew... I would have to take a stroll
to the local river...
(click photos to enlarge)
and gather a bundle for a little centerpiece...
I quickly learned the twigs are far too delicate
support the berries in an upright position!
So I stood a couple of heavy twigs in the center
to support the heavy berries...
While I was wandering by the river
I lucked out and found this sweet little nest..
I feathered my new nest
with a few berries and a dried rose...
A happy bit of late day sun
shining in the window...
A birds eye view :-)
After my cold little journey
hot oatmeal raisin cookies are a nice way to warm up...
I hope you enjoyed your journey today?

Hi Bella, I like the way you did the vignette of the snow berries. We dont have them down here at first I thought the were goose berries. But your photos are beautiful anyway. Have a nice evening...Julian
I don't think we have snowberries here. We have some winterberries (red) that I need to get for some outside decorating. Yours are beautiful! Love the little nest It is just so sweet. Hugs-Diana

The snowberries look really nice in your vase Bella as well as creatively arranged in the bird's nest.
Oatmeal raisin cookies...mmmm - any tea to go with them?

I never thought to use Snowberries in an arrangement! They are very pretty. And how fortuitous to find the wee little nest! I love it in your little vignette!

Hi Bella,
I have seen these lately on blogs but never in real life. They do look pretty with your little nest. Warm cookies would be a great end to a walk.
Carolyn
Sounds (and looks!) like you had the perfect autumn afternoon, Bella! I love decorating for Christmas with white berries! No red at Heaven's Walk during the holidays - just white and green. lol! It's always such a sweet moment when you discover an little abandoned nest in a tree. I used to use them to decorate my Christmas tree. :)

Hi Bella,
Pretty berries! I love the little nest. I don't think we have snowberries here; I've never seen them. They are so lovely though....I wish we did!
So simple and elegant! We have holly bushes and they have delightful red berries in winter.
Brenda
I think the snowberries are just perfect. I don't remember ever seeing those before, but you just never know if you don't take notice of what is around you. Look at the lovely nest you found!!! So nice Bella, Char
