I have a passion for purple...
(click photos to enlarge)
Purple Transferware..
The toile patterns
and seductive color make my heart race,
unfortunately so do the prices...
With the rain
has come a lack of garage sales,
I have turned to a favorite thrift store,
to satisfy my thrill of the hunt...
(plates by Two's Company)
Yesterday I bagged these goodies,
Since there are only two
for now they will be
fine trophies for my wall...
I am crazy for purple glassware too..
and
have gathered a few odd bits
over the years
like this pretty handled bowl...
and these elegant cruet bottles....
The backs of the plates have ribbon piercing,
which thrilled me even more...
Because what isn't made more lovely
with a sweet bow on top?

LOVE your trophies, Your hunt was a definite success! I TOO love the purple transfer-ware BUT I do not have one piece..."YET"!!!!! and of course being a women over 50,"without a single purple dish" COULD be considered a sin. SO, I will "HAVE" to do something about that!
Hugs to you, Donna
Beautiful...I don't think I've ever seen this pattern in purple, but I love the contrasts:) The ribbons are such a nice touch..love it!
Shabby hugs, Dawn
Beautiful plates!
Those are so beautiful and I love them hanging on the wall. I rarely see that color either-must have made your day to find those.
I enjoyed your dusty whites too!
Carolyn

Bella, those are so beautiful. I love the soft colour and the bows make them look even prettier. Great finds!

You do not see many things of this nature in purple anymore. You have done very well in your finds and how you are displaying them.
Bella .. I love the way you have chosen to display your beautiful treasures... HHL
I would love to find the purple transfer ware...next to pink my next favorite color is purple. I like the lavender and lilac colors the best.
Thank you for sharing!

Bella-What beautiful plates...hard to believe you found them un-tended at a thrift store! I don't think I have EVER seen purple transfer ware anywhere...well, except now, of course. I love that you hung them. They are gorgeous..along with you other glass pieces. Perfect~as always! Hugs- Diana
Those are gorgeous plates! Love the patterns! How wonderful that you found them at the thrift store! I have two newer purple Spode dishes and they are so pretty! Wish I had more, but purple seems to be hard to find!

Oooh, what great finds! These are gorgeous. I love the plats hanging. And I am also a big fan of glassware. I like to collect vintage glass.
Hi Bella,
What gorgeous purple transferware! I love purple too but I see pieces so seldom....and they are always very pricey. I'd love to collect it myself if I didn't already want to collect blue....and red and brown! :-)
This is soooooo lovely!!!!!!!!
Your heart racing comments made me laugh! Yes, I have seen you with this color. It's finds like this that turn us into addicts! Great score. Looks terrific with the glass, but wonderful on the wall! Ciao! JQ
These are so sweet, Bella! I can see why you are in love with them!
XO,
Jane
Great finds. It is that time of year for searching thrift stores and indoor auctions for our treasures. ~~Sherry~~

I've been in a lot of antique, flea, thrift shops all over the USA. Been to a few garage sales and even been gifted a lot of vintage dishes from my mother. But I don't believe I have ever seen the purples you have. Very pretty and unnique.
I wish you a wonderful weekend my dear friend.

I agreed with you purple transferware is hard to get and rare and would cost you arm and leg to get just one or two nice ones! I also love purple transferware and bought one from ebay years ago.. and was glad at that time, the price was not that expensive compared to now.. anyhow your plates are lovely and much more prettier when you hang them on the wall.. love it! thanks for sharing and have a good weekend!
Oh goodness Bella!! Your purple transferware plates are GORGEOUS!! I would love to find some in a thrift store! I usually only find a random blue or red (which I pick up for my kitchen!) but purple must be just amazing in person! The ribbons are just perfect! Thanks so much for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday! :)
Very pretty!!
Love,
Susan and Bentley

Oh, I'm drooling! I love the purple. What great finds. I may have to look for some of this. And yes, everything is better with ribbon.
Brenda
The plates look so pretty hanging on the wall. Great finds.
Hello Bella
You know I love this post. Lovely purple transferware and I adore the glass sugar bowl.
I've not seen either of these collectibles in any of the antique stores here but you sure were lucky.
Judith
I, too, love the lavender/violet transferware! But have not purchased many pieces because they are pricey (and hard to find)... lucky you for finding such treasures! :) mercedes
What finds - I can't believe they're new!

You hunt for the most lovely treasures!!!
Bella,
I love purple too. I have one of those first plates at my shop that I use as an example to show people a piece of new transferware. The little hole for hanging is so nice...the bows really look so pretty! And...your lavender/purple glassware is gorgeous. I have a couple of pieces and it is soooo pretty paired with the purple transferware. Such a pretty, pretty post!
Thanks for sharing,
Nancy
