I started out to pick some flowers today...
(click photos to enlarge)
I love to have fresh bouquets for the weekend....
then I remembered my little
flower picking basket
I bought last fall...
I have hardly used it this year,
and the summer is flying by
so quickly now...
the little flower pickers basket
has a cane handle....
the bottom of the cane is sharp
and pokes into the ground easily...
today's harvest included,
Ballerina Roses...
Cottage Roses...
and Oak Leaf Hydrangea...
I picked so many flowers,
there was enough for several bouquets...
but small lazily arranged flowers
in tattered china
are always my favorite...
Today I am joining...
and
Thanks for stopping by...

My favorite thing, fresh roses and flowers in a little pitcher. That is the reason I collect them. The basket is fantastic...I have a basket but am always bending over to pick it up!

Beautiful flowers Bella, your basket reminds of the one that Little Bo Peep had in the childrens nursery rhyme.
All it needs is a big bow tied around it.
How unusual your basket is as well as beautiful, especially with the flowers.x
A basket full of flowers picked from one's own garden is such a reward for a job done well. Very sweet.
Beautiful flowers and I love your basket, what a neat idea:@)
Your lovely garden has inspired me to add more roses to my garden.
Do you have any suggestions for me, that would give me beauty, cutting ability, and yet no maintenance?
Your cutting basket is sweet!

Be still my heart! What a beautiful blog you have created Bella ~ I must get my hands on one of those picker baskets. Roses are so romantic aren't they? The tattered pitcher with all the lovely pinks is just stunning! I've just climbed on board!
Hugs Rosemary...
Love the basket the chair the bouquet and of course the setting!
Have a lovely weekend,
Carolyn
Bella, Your basket is 2DIE4!!! I love the way it pokes in the ground leaving your hands free to cut flowers. And your arrangement is stunning. I just got back from my vacation in California & just bought 2 silver pitcher (I did a post go check them out as they are so pretty) that I would do arrangements in IF I had flowers to cut. HECK, we're so dry & burned up there is nothing to cut! Thanks for sharing as I LIVE through you this gardening season. HUGS!

They are just beautiful Bella! Oh I am so envious of your roses. I am such a lazy gardener perhaps next year I will improve! You know we really should get together soon and see each others old homes!
I remember that basket! I love it and what fun to use it and have it for photos! Roses will soon be ending here. xo Diana
I agree with you about casual bouquets in pieces of china. There is something so lovely and romantic about that kind of arrangement.
I love Maggie's comment(above)about the basket and attached cane reminding her of Little Bo Peep! That is perfect. The basket is wonderful. Beautiful flowers.

How soft and romantic everything is in your photographs. I can almost smell the roses. After one week of rain the sun is shining bright and there's lots of gardening to do--mainly weeds to pull. How are your doggy girls? Such sweet faces.
