Over the weekend,
we decided we needed to get away,
for a long drive...
we headed North to La Conner, WA
they are famous for their amazing Tulip Festival...
it was too early for that,
but the fields of Daffodils
had just begun to bloom...
Trumpeter Swans,
grazing in the empty fields...
flocks of Snow Geese...
it was a very grey day....
but the fields
were sunshine bright...
I am just as fond of all the amazing homes
in town as I am of the flower fields...
and here the colors never fail to thrill...
nor does the charm...
purple!!
and a life size Pink Pig,
Paper Mache??
then there are the grand old houses...
this one is everyones favorite,
I have seen in in several books
and magazines,
I have even seen a painting of it in an antique store...
I am always swept away by the fancy cresting,
and widows walks...
the romance,
of ladies climbing onto the widows walk,
their dresses whipping in the breeze,
awaiting their sea faring husbands return...
or maybe the romance,
of riding an aqua colored bicycle
on a spring day...
this shop has been noted as a return destination!
Ooh la la!
I can't resist sharing a photo
of the Tulip Festival
in full bloom...
I visit there a couple years ago
and here are links back to those posts...
and Here...
I hope your enjoying this first day of spring?
Today I am joining...
Happy Spring!!
