Treasure Hunting..

 

In my opinion...

 

the best way to spend a Friday morning

is hitting the garage sales...

 

and,

I always feel like if at the end of the hunt,

my little pile,

looks like it all goes together,

I've had a good day....

 

 

today's little haul,

was perfectly pink and rosy!



a little box of vintage buttons,

mostly plastic,  a few Mother of Pearl...

 

buttons used to be so easy to find,

this is the first box I've seen in a long time....

 



 

pretty hankies,

a must have....

 



 

I bought the platter on the bottom today,

so excited,

because I knew I already had it's twin!

 

when I got home I was surprised to see,

the new one was a bit plainer,

and the old one had a ruffled edge...

 

I really like the slight difference,

kind of a his and a hers...

 

 

the swoon of the day,

a small hand painted rose vase...

 

 

perfect with this rose doily!

 

I know I promised to show you last weeks finds,

and haven't forgotten!!

my big purchase was big in size,

and we are still getting it settled in...

I'll be sharing it next week...

Bud Vase...

Vases

and well anything

that can hold flowers,

are something I tend to collect....

 

 

usually,

these vases

come in larger sizes...

 



 

but,

this unique bud vase

cleverly made from a silver fork and knife,

was pretty irresistible...

 

still,

I rarely use it...

 

a flower has to be special

to stand all alone

 in a vase...

 

 

I think Scepter'd Isle

is about as special as a small rose can get...

 

so tender...

 



 

I had a great day garage saleing today,

and can't wait to show you my haul next week...

 

tomorrow,

I am going on a garden tour

of eight beautiful local gardens...

 

these tours are always loaded

with inspiration.

I am bringing my camera along,

 hoping I am allowed to take pics

 to share with you...

My favorite summer weekend activity,

makes my day...

 



 

last Fridays little stack,

four dollars...

 

a cheap thrill...

 

there haven't been too many sales around here

this year,

maybe it's a bit early,

or just too wet here still?

 



a pretty pair of rosy plates...

 

a nice way to make dinner for one

feel special...

make sweet vases...

catches the prettiest reflections...

Hello Summer!!

A big Hello to Summer!

Aren't you glad it's here!

 

I have to admit,

I celebrated a day early...

our First Day of Summers forecast,

was for a nasty wet one...

 

and,

 I was eager...

 

 

a little nook in the roses...

 

 

cozy...

 

 

blue skies...

my Zephirine Drouhin Rose

in full bloom...

 

she is a beauty,

but maybe not best suited to my wet climate,

I read she was a great Rose for the high desert...

 

still we try,

because she is thornless,

and perfect for my seated arbor....

 



lazy days in the sun

call for pretty garden books...

 



 

and flowers....

 

 

 

White Peaches are in season,

sweet and juicy...

 

the taste of Summer...

 

 curious Iris,

came to see what all the fuss was about...

 

 

I hope your first day of summer is "Just Peachy"...

The Last of Spring in the Garden...

 

Summer is already knocking on the door,

Spring has flown by...

 

 

I would love for you to join me

on a stroll,

thru my early June Garden...

 

the first grand flushes of Roses...

 

the first grand fluttering visitors

 to the garden...

 

 

 

the greedy visitors...

 

the Cedar Waxwings have made their once a year visit,

to gobble up the Service Berries...

 

it makes you wonder where the expression

"eats like a bird"

comes from,

because they can put away the berries...

 

 

my baskets are full and plump...

 

but the Roses get my Ooh's and Ah's

 



 

Fairy Lilies...

 

twirling in the sky....

 

 

the Snowbell Tree,

so heavy with blooms,

I fear for the weight on her branches...

 

 

 

 

I hope you have drank all

the sweetness of spring in...
