A big Hello to Summer!
Aren't you glad it's here!
I have to admit,
I celebrated a day early...
our First Day of Summers forecast,
was for a nasty wet one...
and,
I was eager...
a little nook in the roses...
cozy...
blue skies...
my Zephirine Drouhin Rose
in full bloom...
she is a beauty,
but maybe not best suited to my wet climate,
I read she was a great Rose for the high desert...
still we try,
because she is thornless,
and perfect for my seated arbor....
lazy days in the sun
call for pretty garden books...
and flowers....
White Peaches are in season,
sweet and juicy...
the taste of Summer...
curious Iris,
came to see what all the fuss was about...
Happy Summer!

Your lovely garden is the perfect place to enjoy the first day of summer, Bella! I see Iris is enjoying herself, too. I love your beautiful arbor and sitting area. The roses are really putting on a show! Hugs, xo
It's so lovely Bella to see your pretty Summer garden and little retreat, especially when we are so cold in the middle of Winter. That's what's nice about Blogging,we can go all over the World to experience beauty of Summer in the middle of Winter. Have a nice day. x
Well, I am sitting next to a warm fire at the moment as it is winter here, but I so enjoy looking at your garden and can't wait for spring to arrive. I love your arbour seating area, truly romantic! I also have purchased 2 thornless roses and am waiting for them to arrive to plant them up an arch. Your garden is truly inspiring..take care, Maryann
The thornless rose Zepherine Drouhin is a beauty but always prone to blackspot. I love this rose in the garden but as we also live in a wet area it remains a problem rose. Your romantic spots in your garden and your Iris are really wonderful!
Bella,
So beautiful. Love your summer garden.

Beautiful garden photos and vignettes!
You are so rich in roses, Bella! This is a gorgeous first day of summer celebration. That green hedge backdrop is very dramatic, and the crisp whites are dazzling in this setting. Gorgeous, gorgeous.
Such beauty! Love all the roses spilling all over!

I'm glad you were able to celebrate the arrival of summer before the rain came down on your garden. Your arbor looks lovely with those roses.... I hope you continue to have good luck with them. Sitting in the garden on a mild sunny day is such a comfort, isn't it?
