Spring on the Brain...

Here it is late winter,
and spring can't come fast enough...

(click photos to enlarge)

My bulbs are up,
some are blooming....

It's all looking good....

Then Mother Nature
proves she is not done yet,

and turns my garden into a big snowglobe...
several perfect pristine inches...

So today
I thought it was time to begin to build my own
snow free snowglobe...

That is the joy of cloches,
an empty space to build your very own little world...

A world where the birds are singing...

A world under glass
climate controlled by me :-)

I hope you have found your bit of spring today?

Miniature Roses...

Last Year
I picked up a Miniature Rose Bush
at the grocery store...

I planted it last summer
and was surprised to see it thrived...

(click photos to enlarge)

So I was thrilled to see them in the grocery store
again last week...

and picked up three...

I will have perfect tiny blooms all spring,
then to the garden they go...

a clever friend asked last fall if
the beautiful leaves of Dusty Miller
could be dried?

I had to try it...

yes... Jacqueline,
they dry perfectly!

You must go see what other clever ideas Jacqueline has

Besides it is White Wednesday
her favorite party of the week
and she never fails to delight you!

Of course Pink Roses are my favorite!

the pure romance
of just a wisp of pink blush....

Tonight I am joining
White Wednesday at Kathleen's...

Thanks for visiting me today!

First Spring Planter...

Time for a confession?
I am Bella and I have had
the world's very worst kitchen floor....
(Well really.. the whole kitchen)

The kind that when Oprah had a search
for the worst kitchen in America
I would not dare show it:-)

I have been procrastinating ripping the floor out for years,
because I knew it was gonna be a horrible job..

A long long weekend
two layers of very old linoleum,
 a sub floor,
gallons of chipped up glue
and I can see the original wood...

there is still a long way to go...

So during trip number three to the hardware store
to buy more scrapers....

(click photos to enlarge)

I gave in and bought spring plants...

To fill the old laundry tub by the front door,
yes,  it's a bit early...
but they are so welcoming to come home to...

and they are easy to throw a sheet over over at night
if it gets a bit too cold...

The cheery colors of spring!

brighten my soul...

A nice sunny morning....

even coaxed the Snowdrops
to unfurl a bit today...

a Rose just because :-)

I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!
