Rainy Monday...

We are not early morning people

or dogs,

here at my house....

 

but,

the girls take lazy

 to a whole new level...

 

Iris would

stay in bed until noon...

 

if

 I didn't chase her out...

 



 

on this rainy Monday Morning...

 

when I finally evicted them

from the bed...

 

they piled on Randy

for some extra Zzzzzz's...

 

A dogs life,

not too shabby...

Pumpkin Pickin' Time...

When we bought this house

we had a big half acre of nothing,

not a plant in sight...

 

so, the first Summer I decided to grow

a Pumpkin Patch,

and let it sprawl everywhere,

it was so much fun that

since them I have always

grown a little patch...

this year

I simplified and grew a small patch of

Casper White Pumpkins...

 

I hollowed one out

and tucked in a glass votive jar

for a bouquet of...

 

Mary Roses

Dusty Miller

 Alyssum

and

White Phlox

 



 

I am eager

to try my hand

 at some Pumpkin Crafts this weekend...

 

I've seen so many beautiful ideas

 on Blogs and Pinterset,

the hardest part may be deciding which to choose!

Holly is my Sunshine Dog in the back

and little Twiggy is up front...

they are both gone now,

but, in the blue collar is Berry

he was just a pup then

now he is a sweet old man

of fifteen...

Fall Entered the Garden...

Fall announced it's presence

with rain,

lots of rain...

 

after a dry Summer,

we are happily drinking it up...

 

enjoying the hush

rain creates...

 

 

yes,

even the aphids are drinking it up...

 

 

during a sunbreak,

the garden is quenched,

but, tattered...

 



the Fairy Roses

 tumble over...

 



the overgrown Summer garden

has become a tangle...

 

a sweet mess,

I should to begin cutting it down...

 

should...

 



the first leaves

have begun to fall...

 

Daisy keeps busy inspecting each one...

 

 

the Anemone leans into the gazebo,

taking a bit of shelter

from the pounding rains...

 

if you have spent Fall's of the past

here in my garden with me...

 

 you will know,

I am not a "balanced" gardener...

 

I plant for the Spring and Summer,

they are my favorite months...

 

the only notable

plant of Fall interest I keep is

Beauty Berry...

 

isn't the color fantastic?

are fading...

 a faithful Rose...

 



 

blooms of the near future

if the weather holds...

 

yes,

more aphids,

the Chickadee's are thrilled

flitting about,

 fattening up for the Winter...

 



 

a little tattered,

a lot treasured...
