Flowers of August...

Today was a day spent in the garden,
catching up on deadheading and weeding...

I can't believe it is
nearing the end of August...

The late season flowers are blooming...

(click photos to enlarge)

A gathering of Anemones,
with a happy bee....

Herons Bills...
the veins in it's small petals look like butterfly wings..

A soft striped Hollyhock
in the late day sun,
full of shadows...

The last Astrantia flowers
leaning on a rusted iron headboard...

A deeper pink Anemone,
with a sprinkler showering in the background,
creating a magical backdrop,
of sparkles and mist...

A soft Pink Rose Of Sharon,
the happy recipient of the sprinklers shower...

I am joining Today's Flower
stop by to enjoy flowers from around the world!

Thanks for joining me in the garden today :-)

Dearest Bella,

Looks like they all got just back from the beauty parlor! What a showcase is your garden! We do have a double pink Rose of Sharon but they don't look as happy as yours. Also a double white we have and several single blooming varieties. It is tough to keep our dbl white and pink variety alive!

Bella-Your garden is beautiful. Love the late summer flowers and know that soon they will be put to bed for the winter. How can it be that summer is over? Your garden is as pretty as you are- Diana

Hello Bella,
Japanese anemones are very interesting flowers. I love them and they grow in my garden. I like their elegance and lightness.
I did not know the Rose of Sharon. It looks quite beautiful as well your photos.

Hi Bella,

There is still so much in bloom in your garden! I like the colour of your hollyhocks. I have them in a deeper shade of pink, but think this colour is prettier. Your anemones are beautiful as well!

Happy sunday!

Lieve groet, Madelief
