For today's tea...
I thought I would do something entirely different!
(click photos to enlarge)
No pretty painted china cups today..
just glass.
Bathed in the sunlight.
I made blooming tea...
It's green tea with jasmine.
The tea starts as a little dry bundle of leaves.
When you pour the hot water on them
they bloom as they steep
This one is Summer Bouquet,
I thought that was appropriate
for the first day of summer:-)
I used my pink depression glass tea cup,
with a mix matched saucer.
More floating flowers,
This one a Gertrude Jekyll Rose..
A top view..
just because:-)
and this little bundle of Schizanthus
or Butterfly Flower.
In a simple clear glass bottle.
Today I am sharing my tea with several parties!

Bella, really beautiful.
I was looking for the name of Schizantus, because I have the plant but didn't know the name.
Your roses are splendid, mine are very spoiled due to rain and I'll have to wait to see them recovered.
Love from Spain!
Hi Bella
I've seen the blooming tea kits in the stores and find your photo of it steeped, fascinating. You didn't say how the tea tastes or was it too pretty to drink? :-)
Love your flowers on the table.
Happy Summer.

Shizam! to your Schizanthus! haha This is a terrific look. Tres exotic! I can't imagine what it's like to walk out your door and pick a bloom or two! The glass looks wonderful with your laces, no? Did you get the sunshine I sent you? Jacqueline

I have heard of flowering teas before and I love how you positioned the tea pot so the light of the window illuminated it. What a stunning tea post for today!!
Debbie
Hello Bella- Beautiful tea. I love all the glass and the breezy summery feel it brings. I've been contemplating getting a glass blooming teapot, when you pour your tea does the 'tea-bud-bundle' tip over or does it right itself out when you set it down? Take care.
Hi Bella, Lovely blooming tea. I would love to get a tea pot for doing just that! I love glassware. I have a few of my grandmas with the luncheon plates. Your flowers on the table are so pretty. Have a wonderful week, Theresa
Oh I love the glass TP and seeing the jasmine too is wonderful, what lovely flowers too, such a treat thank you for the invite.

"just glass"?!!! I LOVE your depressin glass cup and saucer, and I'm sure I'm not alone saying so! I have a pink depression glass sugar and creamer, but no cups and saucers to match!.. So, someday, hopefully! Love the floating rose.. Very pretty! ~tina

This is diferent, but its very beatiful also!!! And it is very original too!!! Kisses Esther
I love tea flowers. When my girlfriends and I get together for a "girls night in" that is one of our favourite things to share ... a lovely tea flower blossoming slowly over a tea light! Something my dear husband just doesn't appreciate. Although I do have one girlfriend who is completely freaked out by tea flowers and is convinced they look like spiders! Silly, silly girl ... spiders never ever looked that lovely! :)
Glass has an special enchant...I love it.Your photographs are really pretty
Kisses
