A couple of days ago,
I shared with you my lust for Vintage Valentine Boxes,
and showed you one I made...
(click photos to enlarge)
I do have one older box...
dare I say vintage?
I think the box is from the 1970's
it reminds me of the boxes I saw in the stores
as a girl.
Which in it's own scary way,
makes me vintage...
I found this pretty Valentines Day box
in the free bin at a garage sale...
Surly it deserves to be loved, admired...
even though it does have this funky mod background...
and a plastic rose...
even a bit a tinsel...
I still find it charming :-)

Thanks for stopping by,

Dear Bella,
yes, this lovely box needed a home where it will be treasured for it's vintage beauty and I doubt very much that it reflects that you are vintage too! Just means that lovely items such as this has been around for a while. LOL!
I cant find a pretty vintage heart candy box anywhere. I have made a deep heart box, but it's not the same as a candy heart box! Both of yours are just lovely!
Thanks for being a blogging friend,
Shirley
Hmm vintage my dear??? You are not!! I remember those boxes too! The one you made is so much prettier, but I understand that this box was hard to pass up. Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Cindy
Oh my! I do remember those plastic roses. Still pretty. Reminds me of the boxed candy I used to get from my dad. Sweet memories. Somehow I missed the box you made. Girl, that is off the chain! Love it.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Tammy
Just beautiful- my grandfather would buy one of these, along with the most wonderful card, for my grandma every year...I still have the cards stowed away back in my closet...
Have a fun PS and a great weekend!
Hugs- Tete
I love the vintage Valentine boxes with the plastic roses, and the bigger the better!
I was fortunate in my younger days to receive some these pretty boxes. I tend to remember mine were mostly red. These are very pretty in pink.
What ever happened to those gorgeous frilled & fluffed Valentine boxes of yore!? Your box is awesome ... brings back lots of memories of wonderful surprises & those deelish beauties inside.
Have a beautiful PS weekend ~

Beautiful Valentine box! Happy Pink Saturday. Grace xoox
What a great old box...and the funny thing is that by the photo you would NEVER know it was a plastic rose..it looks real...and I love those old Valentine candy boxes too...they don't make anything like them anymore.
Vintage? If YOU are vintage than I must be Ancient! lol Hugs-Diana
Totally charming and very, very collectible. I think you are lucky to have these for some reason they are so appealing.(-:

Hugs from Håkan
Bella, I'm glad you gave that pretty Valentine box a loving home!
Hi, "Vintage" 1970, lol oh my gosh, vintage to me is the 50's, lol. Anyhoo, my dad used to buy my mom and me those beautiful boxes of candy. Mom's had roses (she also received a dozen red roses) and my box had a doll with a beautiful dress spread out over the top of the box. You post brought back so many memories. BTW I had to read the post where you made that stunningly beautiful box! OH my, I so love that. It is the most dreamy romantic box I have ever seen. I am your newest follower too. Blessings
These valentine boxes are just wonderful ~ I LOVE them ~ what ever happened to them? ;-)
Hi Bella, I think that is so beautiful, hard to believe anyone could actually throw it in the trash... thank goodness you saved it!... these were the kind of beautiful candy boxes my daddy always bought my mama when I was a little girl, waaayyy back!... still so lovely today!... xoxo Julie Marie
It's stunning. I love all the vintage "tackiness". LOL It's charming and sweet. Now I am going to be hunting down forgotten and tattered old Valentine's boxes!
Great pink share!

Oh, Bella. What a charming heart-shaped box. You scored! Now why would someone throw that out? Or, I should say, not want it? Great find! Susan
Hi Bella,
Yes, from the 1970s is definetely vintage! Such pretty boxes. We don't have them like that in Holland, but I guess that is because we don't really have a Valentine tradition. The last decade 'Valentine's day' is getting more and more established in Holland.
Happy weekend!
Lieve groet, Madelief
Hi Bella, I love your Valentine heart box, it's so pretty... I have a small collection of them too, their just to pretty to resist! Happy Pink Saturday!!!
Daphne
Happy Pink Saturday Bella Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful share today. I too love the candy heart boxes. I keep old cards and love letters from my DH and love letters from my kids in them. Someday when I am long gone, they will pull those boxes down and find what secrets they hold for them to read.
I too cannot pass one up. They are so useful and recyclable. I can't imagine throwing one out, let alone giving it away at a yard sale. Don't they know about us gals yet? We love this kind of stuff, and yes we do buy it. Oh my.
I love your collection and thank you so much for sharing today. Have a beautiful weekend sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Hi Bella!
I'm vintage too; I remember those Valentine's Day boxes from the 1970s! Even with plastic flowers, they are still so pretty!!!
Love it!
Hi Bella,
I adore the vintage Valentine's Box. I don't dare start collecting them. I had one in my Etsy cart last month and knew if I bought just one, I'd be in serious trouble, so I decided against it. But they are so dang gorgeous.
Happy Pink Saturday,
Cathy
Definitely charming with a hint of vintage! What a find for you in the FREE box! Great.
