I thought I would share my favorite French delight
a treasure from Providence...
Lavender...

my treasured
apothecary jar full of Lavender...
collected last summer during my trip
at Lavender Festival,
in Sequim, WA
the Lavender capital of North America...
lavender makes the perfect mate
for vintage pillowcases..
a little bundle or sachet insures sweet dreams...
I have this beautiful handcrafted bath fizz
from my trip,
I still haven't had the heart to drop it in the bath
and watch it melt away...
besides it still smells like a summers day...
after my trip
I became obsessed with Lavender,
just a bit...
I made Lavender Lemonade
and then later on in the summer,
when my own Lavender bloomed...
I made a batch of Lavender Sugar
for enjoying throughout the winter...
poking through my photos from last summer
I saw this one..
and had to share!
The vivid colors of summer!

How lovely! I do love lavender and have it in my garden so I dry sprigs every summer. Pretty pictures :-) Blessings, Pamela
Beautiful post, Bella. I love lavender too. How was the lavender sugar...did you end up using it on cookies... or stirred into a cup of tea?
Posts like this make me wish I had a scratch and sniff screen...well except when I see pictures of dog poop in the snow...then...not so much~ xxoo Diana
Lavender...such a favorite! At my last home it grew well; here, so far it doesn't make it through the winter. Your lovely photos have inspired me not to give up on it!

I love Lavender. Blooms from the happy heart's garden, plucked in the spirit of love; blooms that are earthly reflections of flowers that blosson above.
Thank you for sharing.
~Have a wonderful day~

I'm obsessed with lavender too! I got a bag full from Marcia's Santa Barbara farm last summer. And there's a farm a mile or two from me that grows it. H E A V E N L Y! Such a very pretty post. Here we are greeting Paris getting up again!
All is exquisitely displayed. A pleasure for the eyes.

Thanks for letting me relive my trip to the lavender festival! It is heavenly for lavender lovers!
Your post is delightful! I know what you mean about not wanting to use your bath fizz; my sister gave me beautifully milled soap from France years ago, and I still haven't used it!
Your lavender sugar sounds so delicious. What a real treat in cookies, tea, etc. You're so right.
As always, it's a pleasure to visit,
Marianne

Lavender sugar sounds just perfect right now. I save soap and admire it rather than use it too!
Such beautiful lavender post! This year, I want to collect some lavender and to make lavender sachets. The photos from the lavender farm are so pretty, I would love to visit such place too, but I don't think there are any close by.
Oh my goodness, what a lovely post. It literally took me back to Provence, where the lavender blowing in the wind like rolling purple waves.
Thank you!
Valarie
Beautiful lavender. You're a lavender loving girl now! I know it smells heavenly. Hope your are having a great day.
Dear Bella,
I love lavender..do you grow any in your garden? I tried once but did not have any luck growing it. I think I should try again. I know I could get first hand help at our lovely Botanical Garden, so I better put this on my 'must do' list! that is one very large apothecary jar, filled with such a treasure of lavender.
Sincerely,
~Shirley
