Hi Everyone...
The first part of this is yesterdays post...
We have been without power for the last 40 hours,
but thanks to our generator,
snug and cozy...
we are all back on now,
at the end of the post I'll share today's new pics...
My soft blanket of snow has turned hard...
Now a world encased in ice...
each tree sparkles like a chandelier...
harsh yes,
but BEAUTIFUL!
today my lady looks sad,
frozen tears...
she watched through the night,
as the ice formed
and the trees began to break...
perfectly preserved rose hips...
--------------------------
Today I took these pics...
the park across the street...
in the quiet stillness of the night
you could hear
the explosion of each tree...
cracking and crashing...
I saw hundreds of trees just like this...
a neighbors home...
There is a lot of clean up
but nature is resilient!
and there will be lots of wood chip mulch
for the spring!
and my little town is cozy again tonight,
and it is a comfort to hear the furnace purring...
I will be sharing at...
and
Stay Warm!

Wow! what a storm, winter has come late to so many areas, but boy did it come. Your ice pictures are gorgeous, these are sad, but I was thinking like you, by summer all will be fine!

How beautiful the ice is but how cruel as well. The photos of frozen berries are lovely - like something out of a fairy tale.
Gorgeous pics Bella! We're getting our first snow fall of 2012 right now, it's very pretty:@)
Nature sure provides beauty even in deadly ways sometimes. I love the shot of the "lady in the garden" with the frozen tears. Beautiful shots, Bella. I'm glad you have power restored. Soon all you will hear is the buzz of power saws as the clean up begins. xo Diana
Hi Bella
Pretty yes, but very damaging as you've shown. Not too many trees, or wires for that matter can take the excessive weight of heavy ice.
We've never experienced this devastation but a few years ago Quebec was hit very hard.
Judith
We had a ice storm like that a few years ago...the crashing sound at night and wondering...what did that tree hit?
But your pictures are gorgeous!
Ice ... so beautiful yet can be so deadly. Be safe - keep warm - and countdown the days until spring!
All the best,
Katie

What lovely sad photo's..bittersweet..in 2009 we were without power 11 days..was a nightmare..today it is snowing a soft steady snow. so beautiful and quiet. counting the days..
Enjoy time,
Shirley
Your photos are beautiful with the ice covering your colorful plants. So sad to see so many trees down and the damage they cause. Glad you have heat!

What beautiful images you've captured from the storm. I'm so glad you had a generator to stay warm and cozy. Nature can be harsh and beautiful at the same time. Stay safe…..

Wow! If we had a storm like that, we'd be shut down until the ice melted! Amazing to see the streets cleared so quickly! Be careful on those icy roads! Blessings from Bama!
What great photos. The robin below was so sweet and your puppies jumping about! I am so glad you had a generator.
Your images of the captured frozen berries and rose-hips are GORGEOUS...I experienced an ice storm when living in NC, it was the most amazing magical, quietest and scariest winter storm I have ever seen...Thank you for sharing yours.

These are amazing photos Bella! Beautiful, and terrifying. I can only imagine the sound of a tree cracking like that, and they can do so much damage! So smart of you to have a generator. Stay safe!
I feel for you. We had a horrible ice storm four winters ago and lost so many large oak trees and had damge to our property. Ice only looks great in a pretty picture, in a glass of ice tea, or something stronger, which after that you all could use.
Thank God for the invention of the generator.
Stay warm and safe,
Evi
So unreal... Such pretty pictures though.... of the first day.... Not all is good when you show us all those cracked trees.... Amazing.... and again unreal almost... Never seen something like that... never experienced an 'icestorm'. I never even heard of something like that existing.
Bye,
Marian
These are some of the most beautiful pictures I have seen...the close ups of the branches and your lady with her tears! I am so glad power is up and that you are safe. It's really sad about the trees. Stay warm!
XO,
Jane
I have never seen something like this. Just beautiful. Flower inside the ice. This is so specially. Have to show it for my family.
Hugs Bente
Love your ice pictures--I hope your next post isn't "and then there was flooding.." :) Glad the lights are on!
This weather has just been crazy. Looks like the ice storm hit you worse than where we are. Your pictures are so pretty. Glad you've got power again. I'm looking forward to just plain old rain for awhile now.
Hi Bella,
The weather in your part of the US looks horrible! All that ice and the fallen trees. I hope there is not too much damage.
Take care!
Lieve groet,
Madelief x
Wonderful pictures of your ice storm. Your lady statue does look sad. I have a large angel outside and she always looks extra pouty in the winter!
Wishing you a good week,
Nancy @ Two Cottages And Tea
Your pictures of the ice and snow are just beautiful....I miss snow...we haven't had ANY this year.
Rene
Wow, what a storm... Both terrible in its damage and exceptionally beautiful. We haven't had much snow to speak of where I live, but I hear some is on the way. Your pictures make me wish it would hurry up and come. I especially love snow and ice-covered gardens. Your photos captured your garden so very well.
Thank god for generators!!! Looks like it was a bad storm but I'm glad you are safe. The photos of the trees and ice are beautiful. Nature is a wonder, isn't she?
Stay warm : )
Danielle
PS Love your blog!
Breath taking images! Everything, literally, looks frozen in time.

We regularly get ice storms in Montreal and I agree that although they are harsh and tragic, they are incredibly beautiful. Your pictures are amazing!
wow° what wonderful pics! :)
Those are awesome!
Whiteout, for outdoor wednesday.
Breath taking.... Stay warm & cozy
Breathtaking images. Sorry about your power being out. Luckily you had a generator. Nature can be bittersweet sometimes.

Though I don't like the Cold I must say that Icicles have always been one of the most Beautiful of Nature's Displays during the Winter! As a Child growing up in some very cold climates I remember always being captivated by the Magical Icicle displays Nature Wowed us with.
Stay Warm... Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
My gosh....Mother Nature wasn't too kind, was she? So much damage, yet you've managed to capture some beauty within all the destruction too.
My Wednesday post: UNDER THE SEA
What beautiful captures of the ice in many forms, sizes and shapes. Unfortunately nature's fury often makes for wonderful photos.
The purple berries in ice are beautiful! Wonderful collection of shots
Beautiful pictures, you have a gift with the camera. Stay warm!
We have lived through lots of these beautiful but devastating ice storms. We still have work to do to our farmhouse from the one 2 years ago. The pictures are awesome. You captured the beauty as well as the grim. Loved the post. genie
How beautiful !
