Koi versus Cantaloupe...

We will start with the disclaimer:-)

I am not a good water photographer
and  it is hard to take a photo with one hand
while your other hand is underwater!

But this is just so fun I wanted to share!

Mike and I have been working on teaching the koi
to eat out of our hands.....

and since they love cantaloupe...
It has been a lot of fun!

Don't you love the look on the white ones face?

Hope everyone got to splish splash
a little this weekend:-)

Summer Pinks...

It's time once again for Pink Saturday,
and my favorite pinks this time of the year
are in the garden...
So... off we go

(click photos to enlarge)

Sweet Verbena up against a rusty bed frame,
I like the contrast of flowers and rust :-)

The Queen Elizabeth Rose hedge I planted is starting to bloom
even though they are only a couple feet tall.
The Queen Elisabeth on the patio is nine feet tall!
I can't wait till the hedge is that tall!

Another rose from the hedge...
They were both so pretty
I thought I would share both:-)

Here come the Fox Gloves...

The Fox Glove up close,
the hairs on the throat are amazing!

One of the White Hollyhocks
I shared with you a few days ago.

Today I thought we would look up close
at the pink streaked center,
Do you see all that pollen?

and the Pink Hollyhocks,
Tall and cheery by the gazebo.

For more pink fun visit

Thanks for joining me today!

Lavender and Lace...

I am guilty of being a bit of a squirrel :-)
I love to gather projects and bits of this and that
during the summer.
To keep me busy during the winter,
when the garden sleeps:-)

Well today we had a high of sixty-five
and not a peep of the sun in sight,
So I went into a semi-hibernation,
and dug through the too big pile of linens,
I have acquired at garage sales this year...

(click photos to enlarge)

I washed and ironed the pillowcases..
not too big of a job..
maybe the sun will shine again soon?

I have a big fondness,
for simple white pillowcases with crocheted edging..
A set of four matching cases is a lucky find...
I rarely see more than pairs...

This is a pair of two,
the edging is much deeper...

I love this pretty as can be small sham...
with it's circle of daisies..

white on white embroidery is so crisp...

although...
I do enjoy the cheerfulness of colorful embroidery:-)

There is a pair of the blue,
one was camera shy :-)

But only one of the pink,
which is my favorite...

with it's so soft colors and tattered edges,
it has been used and loved.

Today I am joining ..

and Claudia at Dippity Road

Come share the fun!

Thanks for joining me on laundry day:-)
