It's so hard to believe
today is the last day of summer...
I know I have been absent this past week...
I have felt the need to soak up the
last remnants of summer...
I thought I would share some photos
from a lazy drive in Snohomish County...
A lazy farm community
full of amazing barns...
This pair of barns is my favorite...
The massive barn
with her baby barn snuggled up by her side...
Where style meets function
a barn with a pair of cupolas..
Perfectly weathered
to a classic grey...
There were lots of red barns around the county
but they just don't do it for me....
A small Dalia farm
all the colors of autumn,
lined up in rows...
sometimes I dream of moving to the country
to farm flowers...
and what would a country drive be without
a charming roadside sign?
Whimsy at it's best!
Grab the last bits of summer while you can!
Today I am joining
A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday
and
Faded Charm for White Wednesday
Thanks for stopping by...

Great buildings.

Missed you this week, Bella. I love old barns too...and especially white ones. We sometimes see a charcoal one here and there around Wisconsin. I love the Big Barn/Baby Barn...wouldn't that make a great story for a kid's book?
Hugs- hope you week is wonderful! Diana
I wondered if you were immersed in your fall chores already. Not much time to blog with all that needs to be done outside these days.
We hit a balmy 75 degrees today but I did not get into my garden. Hubby had a different idea that involved a nice drive in his new toy and lunch out - I gave in. :-)
The weathered barns are much more interesting than a shiny red one; I liked the large and small same design ones the best.

I just love that little baby barn-I've never seen anything like it-how neat!
Hi Bella!
I loooove old barns too! Great pictures! We have a lot of red barns here in Wisconsin, but I really like the white ones best.
There's a really pretty yellow barn not far from here; a real nice old one, with the cupola on top! I should try and photograph it some time!
I just love old barns, these are beautiful!!!

Love the pair. I wonder what the purpose of the little one is? hugs♥olive
Momma barn and baby barn are just too cute for words!!!
Bella, I've long had a soft spot for old barns. These are some of the most charming I've seen. How cute to see the "baby" barn. And the field of Dalias makes me long for some growing in my own garden.
Hope all is well with you. ~ sarah
Love your photos of the gorgeous old barns!
the shape of the barn is beautiful. love the rustic setting...lovely.
Hi Bella, Luv the barns and the first one is my favorite. Thanks for the tour....Julian
Oh, I LOVE your blog--and your pink cake--it is heavenly!!! I saw it on Debbie's Love of the Sea blog...
Wow, the cake is dreamy!!!

interesting,
merci.
Hi Bella,
Your post woke me up today. It is indeed the end of summer. Hope you enjoyed your week without the computer. The pictures you made look beautiful. We don't have barns like this in Holland. They look a sort of pretty. I like them very much!
Enjoy your day!
Lieve groet, Madelief
Hey Bella! Nice to see you back, girl! What a wonderful post today in tribute to the last day of summer. :( Just don't want to see it go.....I am SO with you on the white/gray barn thing. I've been trying to convince my hubby ever since we moved here that our icky red barn needs to be white - but he'll have nothing to do with it. Barns (in his crazy head) always need to be red. Ugh! Oh well....win some....lose some.... Happy WW to you!

I adore old barns too. I have lots of pictures of the old New England barns I grew up with and each time I look at them I get homesick. Your pictures are wonderful and certainly make the transition from summer to fall easier.
I am so thrilled that Debbie of Love Of The Sea did a post about your beautiful pink cake. I told her that every time I view your posts I am totally captivated by that exquisite pink sweetness. Beautiful.
I could live in that barn and have the baby barn as a wee guest house.....perfect! Wouldn't you just love to have that wool and whimsy sign in your home? Happy WW
A lovely place.
Happy Autumm ,enjoy us all the beauty of this season
Love
Great building....i love it............happy day darling....love Ria....
Dearest Bella,
That huge barn with baby-barn is precious! Funny the dahlia has never been a favorite flower for me... they look great in the field though!
We are still having exceptional warm weather here in Georgia, above average! Our friends depart tomorrow and must adjust to chilly weather in The Netherlands. We are blessed here. For Pieter it is great as he's now declared perfectly healed in his chest. Had a check up yesterday with the heart surgeon. So that makes me happy!
Sunny greetings from Georgia,

Have a great evening!

Hello Bella,
I am going to ignore your first sentence since I am still clinging to summer. What fabulous barns! The Dahlias are so colorful!
I enjoyed the lazy drive in Snohomish County! Thank you!
~ Tracy
Such beautiful pictures.
What lovely barns!! We have a mama barn/baby barn combo near us ... I wonder what the baby barn is used for? Thanks for taking us along on your drive.
Hi Bella,
What lovely old barns they are and the one with her baby is so precious! The dahlia farm is awesome. How fun it would be to do that. I'm a city girl that has lived the rural life but always had a herd of dairy goats...milked twice a day and made French Chevre cheese. I've resting now on this mountain..LOL I think flower gardening would be much less labor intensive.
I'm visiting for White Wednesday. I'd love for you to pop in for a visit. :0)
Happy Day to You,
Stephanie ♥
wow -is that rounded barn too incredible- hope you would consider being a BARN CHICK at my next blog party! great pics...
Karen
