Like Lavender
I have been obsessed with it since my trip
to Lavender Festival
(The Lavender Cookbook, by Sharon Shipley)
So I bought a Lavender cookbook...
I have dried lots of buds over the summer
so this winter I can try some of the recipes...
Today I made Lavender Sugar...
It only has two ingredients
(yes lavender and sugar:-)
1 Tbs. Lavender Buds (organic)
2 cups sugar (I used organic unbleached sugar)
Grind the Lavender with 1 Tbs sugar
in a spice grinder until fine...
stir into the remaining sugar...
Let it stand 3 days before using...
the flavor will keep for 6 months...
It is good for baking, sprinkling
and sweetening drinks...
I will be using mine for tea..
and a batch of sugar cookies...
It smells delightful
so simple and elegant:-)
Today I am joining...

Hi Bella! I just got a big sack of lavender that my sister-in-law grows on her farm in Santa Barabara. I've been too busy to unload it from the car. Everytime I get in to go somewhere I get the most fabulous hit of lavender! I think I'll have to keep some in there! Your lavender plans sound yummy! Hope you're good! Your blog is sensational as always--JQ
I just saw this beautiful treasure in the Seasonal Saturdays. It looks awesome. I also want the book, I love cooking with lavender, I often make shortbread.

Coucou,
