Bellevue Botanical Gardens
is one of my favorite places to visit in the summer..
But.. I had never been in the spring.
Since we are enjoying a bit of spring in the air
I drove up yesterday...
Expecting to see colorful bulb displays...
but was excited to instead see
a giant variety of Hellebore in bloom...
(click photos to enlarge)
They are redesigning their flower beds
so the plants are just divided and
most were not labeled..
So most of the names are not available to share...
the spidery stamen...
Green flowers are something I am just loving
the last couple years
and really want to add to my garden...
These were marked
"Pink Frost" ...
I loved the more upright cupped flower...
Witch Hazel in full bloom...
A close up
of the Witch Hazel's tiny flowers...
a wee cyclamen...
I am guessing this is a variegated Weigela,
the colors so soft....
They have a big Camellia Bush in the front,
just coming into full bloom...
quite a sight to see...
Welcome Spring!!!
I will be joining the fun at...
and
Thanks for stopping by...

Beautiful shots as always! I grew "Green Envy" Zinnia from seed last year and it was phenomenal. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for sharing your photos of what's blooming there now. I've been thinking of going, but I want to wait till later in Spring.
Welcome spring !!! wonderful picturea Bella.....lovely day ....love Ria....xxx...
Thank you for sharing all of the wonderful pictures of the beautiful flowers ~ Oh I can feel spring coming closer ;-)
Is it not the best to have close to home a lovely place to visit like this? Makes the wait for our gardens to catch up bearable? I'm 15 minutes away from our wonderful, every growing, beautiful, breath taking,Tower Hill Botanical Garden. As soon as the snow is gone, I'm there..all the time..all year. These photo's are beautiful.
Great photo's Bella.. The witch hazel is a special delight with a beautiful light scent as well! :)
Wouldn't you love to move your house right in the middle of all those gardens? What a delight that you were able to spend the day there. Hugs-Diana
That's it - I have to have a hellebore! :)
Hurray for spring and all of its beauty! Great photos!

What a beautiful way to enjoy nature. Your photos are gorgeous.
Aren't they all just so lovely. To peek inside the blooms and see all that is interesting. Great photos, Char
Great spring time photos Bella. I also like chartreuse flowers, the colour is very calming. Once you start to look for different varieties, you'll find there are lots available.

Bella, I have the same flowers blooming as you do! I love the hellebores and the camellias-they are gorgeous this year!
We had hellebores - they're great for shaded cool spots. Thanks for sharing the picture of witch hazel, I don't think I'v ever seen it before, even in a picture.
Cheers,
Lisa x
Bella, I love the witch hazel images and funny enough just read a long article about it in Garden Design Magazine today. ♥O
I was wondering how the BB garden was looking now. My garden is very behind, I wonder if it is too? We went late March last year and it was just gorgeous. Your pictures are very pretty!
Beautiful flowers. I especially love the camellias... sure signs of spring.
Bella, those are some lovely flowers you posted. Spring is here!

I am considering green flowers in my garden as well. Very nice post, Bella :D
Bella, what gorgeous flowers! How glorious to see compared to the 100% humidity, and the cloudy, windy days we're experiencing in my neck of the woods. Thank you for this quiet repose.
Have a happy day,
Marianne
