The big purse fad has spoiled me,
I carry way to much stuff!
Lately I have been preferring to carry a
"wallet on a string",
but I still want all my stuff with me,
so I have also been carrying a tote...
(click photos to enlarge)
I bought this fun graphic
and have been waiting for a fun project
to use it for....
the bag came from Michael's
I liked the flat structured bottom...
I used iron-on t-shirt transfer paper...
when you make your transfer...
it is so important to make it a mirror image!
I didn't have a program for that
it was super easy...
I gathered some vintage and vintagey goodies...
an old corsage rose..
vintage crocheted pillowcase edging...
and gypsy curling ribbon (new)...
(I didn't end up using the pink ribbon)...
I am so happy with my big roomy tote:-)
I did have a bit of trouble with the transfer...
it didn't stick as well as it should have...
(I think it may have been the humidity or the heavy fabric)
so I took advantage of the situation
and distressed the edges even more...
before the transfer cooled down,
I rubbed the edges with a rough emery file...
it enhanced the vintage feel :-)
I collect a lot of vintage crocheted lace
for using in projects..
but I am always reluctant to use them...
so everything here is easy to remove
without any damage to the pieces...
the lace is hand whip stitched in place,
the rose is safety pinned on from the back
and the ribbons are just knotted...
today I am joining...

Thanks for stopping by today!
