I decided that since the Hydrangeas are starting to bloom,
it was time for a blue tablescape...
(click photos to enlarge)
I have said before I am not much of a blue girl..
I found out just how true this is
when I began searching for some blue for the table!
So I scattered some Hydrangeas on the table
creating a blue tablecloth :-)
And I resisted the urge to add roses!
Except on the dishes!
Since we are having warm evenings
I thought it would be fun to have ice cream on the patio...
So I am using my Homer Laughlin berry bowls...
with a pink depression glass plate underneath.
Another Homer Laughlin dish,
this pattern is fluffy roses
a favorite of mine.
I will fill this small plate with strawberries later,
for now it has some stalks of Toad Flax to garnish it...
I will be serving a little melted chocolate
in this tiny glass pitcher..
to drizzle over the ice cream and strawberries
Mmmmm
The napkins are favorites,
and I use them often.
Vintage with a nice crochet corner.
The lavender is also just starting to bloom,
and sprigs breathing their scent onto the napkins
seemed perfect!
and the Hydrangeas!
I made a floppy casual arrangement
in the cherub compote I painted last month
Blue really is beautiful
I should work on acquiring some!
Today I am joining
Susan at Between Naps on the Porch
Thanks for visiting me today!

I am a new blue lover..never had been before. you take beautiful pictures and i love your delicate floral china.
I have had the same problem when setting a blue table...there is nothing to shop for in my closet! I love your hydrangeas...they are such a great flower and I CAN'T grow them where I live! Joni
Your setting looks lovely ... enjoy the ice cream...HHL
Really pretty in blue. I love your cherub flower vase.
I think the blue looks lovely with the pink - it is a good color combination.
My maternal grandfather's favorite color was skybluepink. :)
So when I see blue and pink together I think of him.
very pretty~

Dearest Bella,
Looks lovely though with the hydrangeas! Only one set of blue I have, did list it earlier in my blog of May 27, 2010 about my Mother-in-law's Blue Transferware. Got even some blue placemats and napkins from a dear friend. But I did enjoy your photos; great job!

Dear Bella,
I love your table setting as much as I love Hydrangeas.
I have them all around the house every time of year: fresh or dryed, does not matter. They're always so beautiful!
Kisses,
Fra
p.s. I LOVE the frame of your header!
Very pretty, I love your little berry bowl!
Hydrangeas are my favorite. I have many actually growing & blooming, but I'm very proud of a little plant someone brought to me around Easter. I pruned it back, planted it and not it's putting on buds. I think you table looks wonderful. xx's
I just love hydrangeas and I can't grow them here. Yours are gorgeous and such a great inspiration for your lovely table.
Very nice your blue post, I like it very much.
Hugs
Glorious hydrangeas, and what a lovely compote to show them off! Your pretty dishes and crochet-trimmed napkins add such elegant touches! I would love to pour some chocolate sauce over my ice cream from that darling pitcher!
Your blue tablescape is pretty Bella, and I knew there would be roses somewhere. :-)
Here I am back on Weight Watchers and you're talking about warm chocolate sauce over ice cream...... I'll look - you eat!!
The blue hydrangea flowers look elegant in the cherub container. Do you have 'Limelight'? I've fallen in love with the pale chartreuse flowers from this hydrangea.
