These are the days,
the lazy middle of summer days....
(click photos to enlarge)
when you want to soak in all you can,
the sun...
the smells..
to bottle it up and save it for a cold winters morn...
garden fresh peas,
smell like the earth itself...
rich and green...
the elegant pods...
and the simple flower...
BASIL!!!
what would summer be without the smell of Basil?
the complete laziness,
of roadside wildflowers....
(Queen Anne's Lace)
even though their frothy flower clusters
do resemble a snow flurry...
Roses...
in perfect blue jars....
their ruffled petals,
almost too pretty for words...
their lucky feet,
swimming in the tropical blue water...
summers of yesteryear,
bottled up...
wrapped in a lace bow...
treasured....
Today I am joining...

Oh, I agree. If we could just bottle up summer it would be so wonderful. Your images are so beautiful and dreamy.
I love IFs ... makes us dream & pull them out when we need them. Beautiful share.

You're right...too beautiful for words!~Hugs, Patti
Oh so beautiful! I love every picture!
Your flowers are all so pretty, love the pink roses in the blue ball jars!
Flowers in old jars are my favorite. No doubts about that one
I feel exactly the same way! Such gorgeous photos too.
Oh how beautiful every thing looks! Here... it is BROWN! BURNED! FRIED!!! Over 26 days consecutive over 100 degrees! And no rain all spring or summer. WHY OH WHY DO I LIVE IN TEXAS IN THE SUMMER? YOU keep me sane looking at your wonder! I will come visit you some summer (in my RV & see the Coke Ovens) & you can show me what summers in my dreams look like! ENJOY!
Charlene
Beautiful!
My daughter is wondering if your Queen Anne's Lace is actually that. It is usually a bit flatter and yours are more rounded if that makes sense. It is very similar though, and maybe it is a variation of it. It's lovely whatever it is!
I love the blue Ball jars, too. Very summery.

I think those blue jars were MADE for pink roses! They are so beautiful together. Love your sweet peas! Is that blue sky I see?
you pea photo is so cute!!!
Dear Bella, your garden is a joy of beauty these days!!!

Hi Bella
Oh I wish we could permanently bottle up summer and share it anytime we wanted to with our quiet moments and happiness and good friends.

I am visiting via Romantic Homes.
What wonderful images!
Have a happy weekend!
Hi Bella, your blog is so pretty... I always feel like I am browsing through a gorgeous magazine when I visit, only one with much more feeling and loveliness... love your bottle of last years blooms... funny, I do the same thing with alot of mine... I am sending you an email too... you are so knowledgeable about roses and I am wondering if you can identify one of mine that was a gift to me without a tag? It is going to be featured in a magazine soon, and I don't know the name of it? Enjoy savoring your glorious days of Summer... and your cooler weather... xoxo Julie Marie
I agree!

So pretty and relaxing. I love your garden peas in the bottle; such a beautiful photo. And fresh basil is one of my favorite things about summer.
P.S. Thank you for the link. Such interesting and unusual crochet works.
Hi Bella, your arbor with the rose vine is breathtaking, also I love your pink and crimson sweet peas! Thanks for stopping by, XO Christie
Ahhhhh.....summer afternoon. No two prettier words....and no prettier photos than yours, Bella. :)
xoxo laurie
Great photos! I love those roses...I have a similar one...not quite as ruffles...so pretty!
I was thinking of how to do this very thing! I wanted to go down to the beach and capture the summer wind and open it in January when it's totally miserable in the Northeast to remember the lazy, sunny, summer days!
What a beautiful post. I love all your pictures!

Beautiful and so calming. I can almost smell the roses!
I'd sure love to bottle it up and save it for those cold days in winter. Lovely post!
Faye
Hi Bella
I like to keep the petals of many of my garden flowers too which are nice to run your fingers through on a cold winter day but I'd love to bottle their scent as well, if I could.
There was a blue Ball jar at the antique store earlier this summer but I didn't pick it up and now it is gone... Guess I'll just have to enjoy yours with the pretty flowers you always put in it.
Hugs,
Judith
I'll take the simple earthy life anytime!!
Simply lovely Bella! I thought that this morning when I got up and thought of the date and realized summer is slipping away one day at a time. And of course our summer here couldn't be lovelier. I found quite the vintage linens finds at a garage sale last week. You will have to skip over to my blog and scroll back one post and read about it. Enjoy the weekend,
Blessings,
Gayle from Behind the Gate
Oh forgot to say, your flowers and pictures are WONDERFUL!
Hi, Bella! I'm admiring all your creative posts here. Can you please share them at the Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop? Hope to see you there at the party :)
Oh, I love your roses in that jar. I have some sweet peas in the garden but. they don't like the heat. They look sickly. Beautiful post!
Thanks for linking it up to HSH!
