I hope everyone enjoyed a fun holiday weekend?
Mike has a few days off so we have been working
to tame the garden...
we both enjoy the garden so much
it's really more play than work....
(click photos to enlarge)
and we were lucky to have some summery weather,
Saturday was the first 80 degree day...
so lets stroll...
the Lavender is just starting to bloom
and already smells amazing...
sunshine and Lavender
such a good combo!
the Hydrangea are just starting too...
these are Endless Summer
and are a couple of years old...
I have a long row of them,
I am waiting for them to fill in...
the thornless Zephrine Drouhin Rose is also in that row...
she has been a slow to grow rose,
but this year has a lot of energy...
Feverfew and Toadflax...
my first Queen of Sweden Rose,
from the first batch of David Austin's
I planted this spring...
she is breathtaking!
the sky high forest of Foxgloves are nearing the
end of their show...
my Mock Orange doesn't get near enough sun,
but I always get a treasured bundle of
fragrant blooms...
I worked on the veggie garden a bit too...
the girls felt bits of twine
were the VERY BEST toy EVER!
I have never had litter mate puppies before,
and it is amazing how different they each are!
Iris is pure speed and grace...
Daisy is all puppy,
so soft and sweet and clumsy...
but in the end she is the one who always gets her way,
she can charm anything
away from any dog in the house!
Did you notice their bells?
I could not keep up with each of them in the garden,
being only 7 pounds they disappear easily,
so I bought them cat collars with bells :-))
Today I am joining...
and
Thanks for strolling with me today :-)

What a great post, and you have a lovely garden, and two lovely little pups to run around it.
OH MY GOSH your garden is enchanting and your flowers are just lovely...How cute are your girls in their pretty new kitty collars lol
Blessings Kelsie
your garden pics are beautiful!
It's amazing how different parts of the country have different growing seasons for perennials! Everything looks so beautiful in yours! I just love seeing pics of your darling puppies!~Hugs, Patti
Your garden is beautiful! What an inspiring post!
Your garden looks as beautiful as ever...it's been so hot here, so my Spring flowers have faded...only the hardy Summer girls are blooming. The girls are so sweet!
Oh no...your poor pups will not be gender confused but species confused!;>) How cute to have them playing in the garden with you. I am jealous that your hubby likes to garden too. MyHero's idea of gardening is to keep running his tractor over the beach to smooth the zebra mussels into sand! UGH- xo Diana
Your Queen of Sweden rose IS breathtaking! Along with everything else! Just "pinch me" beautiful. Such a lovely, lovely place. Nice to see your darling girls.
Your garden is absolutely lovely! I'd love to take a stroll through it. The arbor is beautiful, what do you have climbing it?
Iris and Daisy are precious. Cat collars with bells, I need one of those for Layla who keeps catching bunnies!!
XO,
Jane
I love all the pinks, whites, and blues in your garden. So pretty!
Bella, just "strolling" through your garden in these images offers a cooling respite for me here in Texas. Gorgeous!
Hi Bella,
Your gardens are just breathtaking! I love the "forest" of foxglove...it has always been a favorite of mine. Your pups are so adorable! Isn't it funny how you can buy all kinds of toys for pets, yet they find the most mundane things more fun?? LOL!
beautiful garden and sweet pups, doesn't get any better~
so dreamy!
i love your white arbor & all your blooms. Would love to have you send me some of those pink foxgloves & lupine seeds??? so so so pretty! xoxo, tracie

Your garden is absolutely gorgeous! I just planted my first Endless Summer. Hoping that it does well. You must be a bit earlier than us, but not much. My Lavender is just in bud, my feverfew is putting on quite a show and my foxgloves are at the tail end also. Cute dogs!
Wow I love your garden , the flowers look stunning in sunshine:)

Your gardens are cottage defined!
What an amazing garden you have, and your babies look so happy running around the yard....Enjoy your summer...

Beautiful, as always Bella! I do enjoy visiting... Larry
Your garden is at the place where ours was two months ago... we have moved into our HOT weather season and all the spring flowers are gone, now only the tough ones are blooming. It was a joy to see all your pretty flowers, you have a lovely garden. Every garden needs dogs playing! ~ Jacque
Oh my goodness Bella! Your garden is sooo heavenly. A lovely surprise in every corner...simply uh-mazing! I would love to tour your garden in person someday.

Hello Bella,
your garden is doing so well. I love your Queen of Sweden rose; it's gorgeous. Daisy and Iris seem to have lots of fun; they are so cute with those bell collars.
Your lavender, roses and foxglove are so pretty, Bella! It sounds to me like you have a very temperate (ideal) climate! Our roses are temporarily on hiatus - they bloom spring to frost, with "breaks" for heat! We spent our July 4th in the garden too (and at the BBQ!)
Blessings, Beth
what a lovely garden you have and such a pretty blog, I'll be back x
Your garden looks like an English magazine spread, and CONGRATS on your sweet new PUPPIES!
xooxoxo
What a wonderful garden and I love your gazebo!
Cute pups!
Thanks for the tour
